Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad, established in September 2000, is a self-financing institute under the registered trust Raj Kumar Goel Educational Foundations. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow for B. Tech., B. Pharm., B.B.A., & M.B.A program. It is also a counselling centre for the SEE-AKTU, the state entrance examination centre for Ghaziabad Zone. RKGIT is also nominated by University as the nodal center for university examinations. The mission of RKGIT, Ghaziabad is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has the reputation of being among the finest in the state with a vision to be recognized globally for creating competent professionals. It has to its credit a strong team of 20 highly qualified and richly experienced faculty members, 10 out of whom are either PhDs or pursuing it from institutions of high repute. The department is well equipped with state of art laboratories that impart practical training to supplement theoretical knowledge. The department consistently strives to provide avenues to students for skills development and academic mobility to improve the potential for employability.

The scope of the conference, SEGT-23 is to provide a multi-disciplinary platform to the research community where they can share their cutting edge ideas and innovations related to the different areas of Materials Manufacturing and Energy Technologies.
